Python (3.6 or later)

Instructions#
Installation via conda and conda-forge#
This software is a pure Python package, but its dependencies are not. The easiest way to get everything installed is to use conda. To install swot_simulator with its recommended dependencies using the conda command line tool:
$ conda install -c conda-forge swot_simulator
Installation via conda and sources#
It is possible to install the latest version from source. First, install the dependencies using conda:
$ conda install -c conda-forge numba scipy numpy xarray setuptools python-dateutil netCDF4 pyinterp
Then, clone the swot_simulator repository:
$ git clone git@github.com:CNES/swot_simulator.git
$ cd swot_simulator
Finally, install the swot simulator using pip (it is possible to checkout a different branch before installing):
$ pip install .
Installation via pip#
If you don’t use conda, be sure you have the required dependencies installed first. Then, install swot_simulator with pip:
$ pip install swot_simulator
Testing#
To run the test suite after installing swot_simulator, install (via pypi or
conda) pytest and run pytest
in the root
directory of the swot_simulator repository.
